New Town Action Group resident association was formed by local residents as a non profit making, volunteer group to tackle non political local issues that effected the community and has strong connections with the natural environment of the New Town area of Uckfield East Sussex.

This included the clearing and building of two community gardens, Selby Meadow and Keld Close Community Garden.

Selby Meadow can be found by searching on google Selby meadow or what3words ///lawns.bordering.masterpiece and Keld Close Community  Garden ///untruth.ambient.stars

You can follow updates on both gardens on our FB group page Selby Meadow # New Town Action Group

Our History

From modest beginnings, we've grown to a strong group of volunteers all working together for the greater good of our community.

Two beautiful Community green spaces are open to the public 24 hrs a day for all to enjoy. Keld Close Garden offers a formal layout of gravel pathway, with benches to take a rest while enjoying the well maintained cottage style planted beds.

Selby Meadow is a larger plot offering space for children and families to relax and play safely surrounded by native wildlife and nature.

Both Gardens are maintained by volunteers mainly made up from local residents, supported by grants and donations to continue the upkeep and improvements.
